DESCRIPTION:SAFE-Home Opioid Management Education for Older Adults: Opioid and Naloxone Awareness Initiative (SAFE-HOME) \nSpeakers: Abigail Elmes\, PharmD  \nDate: Wednesday\, October 5 \nTime: 10am – 11:30am PT/11am – 12:30pm MT/12- 1:30pm CT/1 – 2:30pm ET \nOpioid overdose\, misuse\, and naloxone rescue education has been shown to be most effective when provided directly in the community setting. Our SAFE- Home Opioid Management Education: Naloxone and Opioid Awareness program focuses on training care coordinators\, in-home health care workers and high risk community dwelling older adults on safe opioid practices. Additionally\, the SAFE-HOME program trains care provider extenders on opioid overdose and appropriate use of naloxone rescue medication to educate and empower their patients in the midst of the opioid epidemic. \nPlease register HERE.
