Medication-related problems in older adults have increased tremendously over time, and cause a wide range of adverse health outcomes. This presentation will review high-risk medications and problematic polypharmacy in older adults for non-prescribers. Goals of the presentation include understanding principles of safe medication use, identification of high-risk medication use, and review of interdisciplinary strategies that can be used to promote medication safety in older adults.
