On July 16, 2022, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline changes to 988, a three-digit phone number to parallel 911 and 311, and in some states, coordinate with other crisis services. As this new line rolls out, the number of calls to the hotline is expected to rise, including more older adult callers. The call center staff, as well as other first responders and those who follow up on these crises, must be prepared to recognize and respond to the unique issues that older adults may present with in this context. This webinar will discuss unique issues that older adults may present with in crisis, and the E4 Center response to requests for additional training for this workforce. This presentation is ideal for crisis workers, the aging network, community based organizations, and the mental health clinicians who may conduct follow-up on these situations.
