988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Considerations for Older Adults

The 988 hotline offers 24/7 access to trained crisis counselors who can help people experiencing mental health-related distress. In this webinar, Dr. Richard McKeon, Senior Advisor in the SAMHSA 988 Office, will discuss the shift from the previous hotline to the new number, services available, and impact of 988 thus far. Dr. Erin Emery-Tiburcio will introduce training modules designed for 988 call center staff about working with older adults that are currently being adapted for professionals who encounter older adults in crisis in person.
