This workshop series provides information and shares practices with the behavioral health crisis workforce. The goal is to improve understanding of the unique needs of aging adults and the care they receive during a behavioral health crisis. The aging population is expanding, and it’s become increasingly important to address the specific needs of older adults when they face behavioral health crises.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define trends and risk factors associated with suicide and social isolation in older adulthood.
  • Review examples of specialized Crisis Services and cross-agency collaborations for older adults across Pennsylvania that can improve care of older adults experiencing a mental health crisis.
  • Apply best practices to develop sustainable cross-agency partnerships in the crisis service system.
