Older adulthood is a period of high risk for suicide. This presentation will review the epidemiology of suicide in later life, the factors associate with self-injurious behavior in older adults, and approaches to its prevention from both clinical and public health perspectives. We also will review the issues raised by the COVID-19 pandemic with regard to suicide and its prevention.
